There’s no better place to get a taste of the Aussie surf scene, Aussie beer and Aussie sunshine. Manly Beach is, without doubt, one of the most famous for surfing. The stunning stretch of coastline has hosted world surfing competitions since the ’60s. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to surf or want to brush up on your skills, a surf trip package is how to get it done.

You’ll get to dust off the hangover with yoga and a delicious healthy breakfast each morning before heading out to shred the day in the green room in some of the world’s best surf. Your lesson is a short stroll from our doorstep. The Beach House surfboards are yours to borrow so you can practise your shakas before your next lesson. Manly is your playground every evening, and Stoke Beach House is your vibey home base filled with open-minded internationals ready to share a story and a beer.

When you book the surf trip line up, absolutely everything is included. Accommodation, a healthy breakfast, morning yoga, surfboard hire, beach cruiser bicycle hire, snorkel hire, WiFi, cinema screenings and housemate events. Even the Aussie delicacy… fairy bread!

A Day at The Beach House

Here’s an idea of what your day might look like on the surf trip line up at The Beach House, Manly.

Depending on the waves, weather, lesson times will vary. There’s always something epic going on at The Beach House so join your housemates whenever you feel like it or lay on the beach, have a beer or go on an adventure instead!

8.00 am
Limber up with a 1-hour yoga class

9.30 am
Join your housemates for a free healthy breakfast in the professional kitchen

11:00 am
1.5-hour surf lesson with Manly Surf School

Afternoon
Hire a car and go exploring, catch a ferry over to the city, take the beach cruisers out for a spin, borrow the snorkels, top up your tan, peruse the local boutiques or take a nap

6:00 pm
Farewell the day at the bar 

7:00 pm
Join one of the many epic Stoke housemate shenanigans –  think pool competitions, BBQ’s, sunset picnics, live DJ’s, pub crawls, festivals and then some

Surf Lessons

We arrange surf lessons for kooks to mad shredders

Your pro surf instructor will work with you daily, taking great pride in making sure you feel safe in the water, have a board under your feet and a smile on your dial every lesson. Because of tides and wind, you’ll likely surf at different times each day. Check out the lesson board in reception the day before and join your housemates at the meeting spot.

You can feel safe and confident knowing you’re learning with the #1 surf school in NSW. The Beach House surfboards are yours for the taking if you feel like some extra time in the green room. If you’ve always wanted to learn to surf or have your sights set on taking your skills to the next level, this is the best way to get it done!

Beds at The Beach House

When you’re all surfed out, you can recharge in one of our newly renovated rooms, explicitly designed to make sure you and your wallet are as comfy as possible. We love a good dorm vibe, but if you’d prefer to fly solo, we’ve some great twin, trio and king room upgrades available. Choose your room type when you make your reservation or ask the crew at reception.

What the heck is going on at Stoke Bach House?

There’s always something happening at The Beach House. Yoga is held either at the beach or in the yoga studio with one of our yoga alliance certified instructors most mornings — the perfect way to limber up before a day in the waves. The Beach House is a 5-minute walk from the Manly ferry terminal. Regular and highly enjoyable boat rides depart from Circular Quay, Sydney. The trip takes 15-30 minutes depending on the boat you take. The harbour views are incredible. Cruise right past the Sydney Opera House!
