JANUARY FLASHED BEFORE OUR EYES

While some of us are STILL a little hungover from January shenanigans and the remainder of silly szn, we’ve still got some exciting things up our sleeves for the next few months! February is no exception. We are just starting to ramp up for the year. Hold onto your bucket hats; things are about to get saucy.

What’s going on a Stoke BEACH HOUSE these days

There’s always something happening at Stoke, whether it’s an event, movie night, DJ, beach game, yoga class, pub crawl, beer pong comp and the list keeps on going.

Make sure to check out our new Beach Yoga class every Thursday morning. Rise and shine through a guided yoga class right by the ocean, guaranteed to make you relax and unwind before a busy day ahead.

If you’re currently staying with us or are planning to… make sure to check out our Facebook Housemates Group! We post updates on daily events and what’s happening in the Beach House so everyone can get involved. Plus it’s a great way to meet your housemates, as well as keep in touch once you’ve left! Not that you’ll ever want to leave.

WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED IN JANUARY

While most of us are still hungover from Silly Szn and can’t remember much of January tbh, the sun was out, the vibes were lit, and we had a bloody good time meeting you all.

We had some Australia Day events planned to boost some Aussie spirit. There was an Aussie Day-themed Pub Crawl, which was a big hit, followed by an Aussie Day Sausage Sizzle BBQ. There’s nothing more classic than a sausage sanga with caramelised onions (aka burnt to a crisp) and tomato sauce to enjoy with a cold beer.

national pizza day – 9th February

Who doesn’t love a tasty cheesy slice of pizza to get ya through the day?! At Stoke, we’re celebrating National Pizza Day on Thursday 9th Feb, with some free slices of pizza with any drink at the bar. Grab your saucy housemate and roll on in with sandy feet to eat your body weight in pizza. Are you into the American-style slice? How about an Italian wood-fired pizza? Or maybe you’re a little snobby and into more of a fungi town, mushroom truffle and crispy kale topping. We’ll have whatever tickles your fancy.

super bowl – 13th February

All the sports fans are pumped for one of the biggest most epic days of the year. We’ll be screening the Super Bowl in the Stoke Beach House lay-down cinema room for all housemates keen to cheer on their favourite team. Kick off is at 10:30am on 13th February. Get your team jersey ready and your bean bag for the halftime show. We know that’s really what you’re interested in!

VALENTINE’S DAY – 14th February

Stoke Beach House is here to play cupid with some sultry matchmaking fun if you’re ready to get a bit loved up this Valentine’s Day. We’re here to play Cupid with some matchmaking fun. Those lucky enough to stay at Stoke that week, you might find a little surprise on your pillow from Cupid himself. And if you’re brave enough to confess your love to the world, the Love Letter Board will be the place to showcase your passion for Manly, the people you’ve met or some heart-throbbing crushes. We’ve had a couple of love affairs ignite at Stoke Beach House that have turned into marriages. Don’t ask us if they’re vegas style weddings… but please invite us to the after party!

classic pub style trivia – 15th February

Time to test that considerable brain energy with a classic pub-style trivia hosted by Stoke Beach House up in the bar area. We’ll have a bunch of different questions to test your knowledge on music, movies, pop culture and travel. Get your housemate team on the list at reception to compete for some epic prizes! Fresh on the block and don’t have your housemate crew just yet, we’ll get you slotted into a team sure to take home the grand prize.

drag bingo – 16th February

One of our fave times of the year is fast approaching… Mardi Gras. We’re mixing up our Pub Crawl to include Drag Bingo! You read that right. To celebrate Pride Month, we’ll take you to some of the hottest spots in Manly to down a cheap drink of twenty including Drag Bingo at the Ivanhoe hosted by Queen Fairah! We guarantee you’ll have the time of your life. You won’t want to miss this! Get on the VIP list at reception.

Mardi Gras is one of the best times of the year to hit up Sydney, and you can find a comfy place to rest your head at Stoke after a long night of shimming your way around town. Mardi Gras is one of Australia’s most-loved and biggest festivals, promoting fun party vibes for weeks on end.

Don’t forget, Australia is a hot country, and we’re not just talking about the people. The weather stays warm until late Autumn, and even past that, there are still heaps of things to do. Even in the middle of Winter, locals never stop swimming and surfing. If you’re keen to shred some waves, make sure to check out our Surf Packages. You can spend the day learning some sick tricks and skills from Manly Surf School and then rest your head for the night at Stoke Beach House.
